Tyrod Taylor came in to replace Jordan Love as the quarterback during the Denver Broncos versus Green Bay Packers NFL game on August 21. The veteran QB faced flak during the game from many fans, as they didn’t like his play style.
Taylor signed a one-year, $2.5 million contract with the Green Bay Packers on May 4, 2026, joining the team as the primary backup behind starting quarterback Jordan Love. Prior to this, he was played for the New York Jets from 2024 to 2025. Taylor has had some injuries throughout his career, the most notable being in 2020, when a Los Angeles Chargers team doctor accidentally punctured his lung with a pain-killing injection meant to treat cracked ribs.
However, the overall performance might have left something to be desired, as many fans appeared concerned nonetheless. “Packers need a serviceable backup QB. Tyrod Taylor is just not it,” one remarked . Kyle McCord is showing better, and the thought of him as our backup is frightening. It led to a medical malpractice lawsuit.
